Help Us Build Hanna’s 30th Birthday Project

Save your caps and lids to pay tribute to a girl who always appreciated awesome caps and lids

In celebration of Hanna Geisler’s 30th birthday on October 31st, her family and friends are coming together to create something meaningful and lasting: two beautiful benches made entirely from recycled plastic caps and lids.

These benches will be placed in places Hanna would have loved—spaces filled with joy and connection.

How you can help:

To make this vision a reality, we need your help collecting over 200 pounds of plastic caps and lids per bench. We’ll be gathering materials throughout the summer and hope to have the benches ready for pick-up by Hanna’s birthday in October.

What we’re collecting:

  • Clean plastic lids and caps (no paper, label, or food residue)
  • All pieces must be under 8 inches in size
  • Prescription medicine bottles are the only type of bottle we can accept
  • A detailed list of acceptable lids and caps is listed below:

Acceptable CAPS & Flip Top CAPS

  • Sport Drink Caps
  • Soda, Juice & Tea Bottle Caps
  • Bottled water caps
  • Jug Caps Juice (Milk, OJ, Apple juice, etc)
  • Medicine PILL bottle CAPS (carboard, & paper packets removed)
  • Condiment (Ketchup, Mustard, BBQ, Starbucks Creamer)
  • Creamer Broth/Heavy Creamer
  • Juice & Applesauce Pouch Spice Caps
  • Whipped Cream
  • Baby Food
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Hairspray, Deodorant
  • Shampoo, Conditioner
  • Spray Paint Caps (No shiny or glitter)

Acceptable LIDS & Flip Top LIDS

All Lids must be under 8 inches

  • Peanut Butter
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Pringle
  • Mayonnaise
  • Yogurt, Cream Cheese
  • Coffee

When in doubt, the lid might be marked with a recycling number of 2, 4, or 5

Every cap and lid brings us one step closer to honoring Hanna’s life in a way she would have cherished—with creativity, sustainability, and a whole lot of heart.
